What to expect on the lot
Five dealers in Cicero sell travel trailers and fifth wheels, and six more are nearby. Four of the five also stock motorhomes, so you can compare a towable against a Class C on the same visit. Three carry used inventory, which helps if you want a first rig without the new-unit markup. Four offer financing, but get pre-approved at your own bank first so you have a number to bargain with. Inventory turns over, so call ahead before you drive out.

Before you sign
Walk the roof and look at the sealant. Soft spots in the floor near the slide and the bathroom are common on used trailers, and they are expensive to fix. Pay for a pre-purchase inspection from an independent RV tech. That is the best money you will spend. At delivery, do the walk-through with the service writer, not just the salesperson, and test every appliance, the awning, and the water system with water in the tank. Ask where the nearest service bay is if you break down on I-81.
