What you'll find on the lots
All five Caldwell dealers carry used units, and every one of them also sells travel trailers. Three of the five offer motorhomes as well. Financing is available at three of the five, which saves you a trip if you haven't pre-approved at your own bank. The top names include Happy Camper RV Caldwell Superstore with 424 reviews and a 4.7 rating, Bobby Combs RV Centers at 4.7 with 213 reviews, and Camping World Caldwell at 4.4 with 813 reviews. EZ RV Service & Repairs holds a perfect 5.0 from 111 reviews. Inventory skews toward towables, so walk the lot and note the floor plans that fit your truck's tow rating.
Used inventory and what to check
Every dealer here lists used RVs, and that's where the deals often are. A used trailer can save you thousands, but you need to know what you're buying. Ask for the maintenance records and check the tire date codes. Look at the roof seams and around the vents for water stains. A pre-purchase inspection by an independent RV tech is worth the cost, especially on a consignment unit. EZ RV Sales & Consignments handles consignments and delivery, and EZ RV Service & Repairs offers service and parts, so you can keep the rig maintained after the sale. I walked away from a fifth wheel because the slide-out floor was soft. Trust your nose for mildew.
Service and financing
Three of the five dealers offer financing, but get pre-approved at your own bank or credit union first. It gives you a baseline and keeps the negotiation focused on the out-the-door price. Service departments matter too. Camping World Caldwell, Happy Camper, and Bobby Combs all have service and parts on site. If you buy used, schedule a walk-through at delivery and test every appliance, the water pump, and the furnace. Ask them to show you the bypass valves and the water heater. A good walk-through takes an hour or more. Don't let anyone rush it. Get any promised repairs in writing before you take the keys.
