The four lots in town
Basecamp Rv Sales leads on ratings at 4.9 from 154 reviews, and it sells used, motorhomes and travel trailers with delivery available. Affordable RVs rates 4.8 across 68 reviews and is the only one here selling new units alongside used, with financing, service, parts and consignment on site. Interstate RV holds 4.5 from 127 reviews and pairs consignment with service and delivery. Gold Country RV sits at 4.2 from 46 reviews and offers financing. All four list used towables, so the used aisle is where the selection is.
Buying used in the foothills
Every dealer in town lists used travel trailers, and that shapes how you should shop. Ask for the build date on the tires before you get attached to a floorplan, since a trailer can sit for seasons between trips. Walk the roof and check the sealant at the corners, or pay someone to do it. Get a pre-purchase inspection on anything you are serious about, and run the appliances and water system yourself at the walk-through. Financing pre-approval from your own bank before you visit gives you a number to compare against the dealer's.
What's nearby
The location works in your favor for testing a trailer. Auburn backs onto foothill country with Foresthill and the Georgetown divide a short drive up the hill, and the Tahoe basin within reach for a longer shakedown. That means you can tow a candidate up a grade and see how it handles before committing. Off-season buying tends to favor the buyer here, since foothill lots move inventory quietly once summer trips end. Call ahead about a specific unit, because a four-dealer town turns over stock fast.
