Where to start
Virginia RV Sales earns a perfect 5.0 from 25 reviews, a small sample but a clean one. They carry new and used travel trailers plus motorhomes, and they handle consignment and delivery. Commonwealth RV | Boat | Aircraft is the larger, busier option at 4.4 from 196 reviews, with service and trade-in on site. General RV Center and McGeorge's RV each have huge review counts, so read the recent ones and see if the complaints match your priorities. Go Camping LLC lists travel trailers only and has no ratings yet, so call ahead before you drive.
New or used
Four of the five dealers here stock used trailers, and all five sell travel trailers, so the used market is deep. That matters if you want a first trailer without a first-trailer payment. A used unit from a dealer with a service department, like Commonwealth or McGeorge's, gives you a place to return for warranty work and parts. New units at General RV or Virginia RV Sales often come with delivery, which helps if you are not ready to tow. Either way, get a pre-purchase inspection from an independent RV tech before you sign.
Financing and trade
Four of the five dealers offer financing, so you have room to compare. Get pre-approved by your own bank or credit union first. That gives you a number to beat and keeps the conversation about the trailer, not the monthly payment. Commonwealth and General RV also take trades, which can simplify the switch from a pop-up or an older trailer. If you are upside down on your current RV, know that before you walk in. Off-season shopping, often late fall or winter, tends to bring more attention from sales staff and sometimes more room to negotiate.

How many travel trailer dealers are in Ashland, VA?
Five dealers in Ashland sell travel trailers, and three more are nearby. That gives you eight lots to compare within a short drive, which is enough to see different floorplans and price points without spending a whole weekend.
Which Ashland RV dealer has the best rating?
Virginia RV Sales has a 5.0 rating from 25 reviews, the highest here. Commonwealth RV follows at 4.4 from 196 reviews. Small review counts can swing easily, so read the comments, not just the stars.
Do these dealers offer financing?
Four of the five Ashland dealers offer financing, so you can compare offers. Get pre-approved by your own bank first so you have a baseline. Terms vary by lender and credit history, so ask for the full amortization schedule, not just the monthly payment.
What should I check before buying a used travel trailer?
Look at the tire date codes, the roof seams and the slide seals. Ask for a pre-purchase inspection from an independent RV technician. Check the weight sticker against your tow vehicle's capacity, and confirm the dealer has a service department if you want local warranty support.
